Caledonia Township is proud to announce that at the July 10, 2019 Board meeting Jim Farrar accepted the newly created position as the Pleasant view Cemetery Veteran’s Representative. With the closing of local VFW posts the veteran’s flag placements became a concern for the Caledonia Township board.
While 4 Veteran volunteers did it this year, we still felt the need to have someone monitoring flags, to repair or replace as needed and to place markers with flags on new graves if need be.
It is important that we continue to honor and respect all veterans. Jim was already on it before he was asked.
Jim and his wife Deborah live in Spruce, Mi. They have been married for 33 years and have two sons, Tyler & William. Jim enlisted in the US Army in 1970 and received an honorable discharge in 1976. Jim is currently spending a lot of time researching the veterans interred in Pleasant View Cemetery. We will be sharing more information on Jim and his position on the township’s website soon.
